Target audience
The course is addressed to people who have already worked with SIMATIC S7-300/400 PLC’s and STEP7 V5.x. For example: Installers, service and maintenance staff whose practical knowledge is no longer up to date, who want to improve their practical experience or who are going to work with the latest STEP 7 version.
This course focuses mainly on practical exercises.

- work with STEP7 objects and projects;
- download the PLC program into the CPU and upload;
- use standard documentation capabilities;
- test, monitor, analyse and diagnose existing programs;
- write and modify simple programs;

- Presentation of the latest version of the STEP7 basic package.
- Operation of the SIMATIC S7 PLC.
- Structure of a program.
- STEP7 BASIC software package:
- Global settings (authentication, language and PG / PC interface);
- Dealing with projects (create, modify, download and upload);
- Hardware Configuration and Symbolic Names;
- Working online;
- Clearing the PLC / programming memory cards;
- Documentation options (comments);
- Reference data (cross reference list, program structure, etc.);
- Testing the program (debug / status / control);
- Setting the CPU clock;
- Changing the CPU operating mode;
- Scan cycle times and CPU information;
- Reading of diagnostic buffer with STEP7.
- Hardware troubleshooting (hardware diagnostics with STEP7).
- Software troubleshooting (via CPU diagnostic buffer and Stacks).
- Creating a STEP7 project:
- Create hardware configuration;
- Creating and editing the symbol table;
- Edit program blocks using STEP7 programming-editor;
- Many practical exercises.
