Siemens SIMATIC S7-300/400 PROG1 Course “ Programming S7-300/400 PLC’s”

​​​​​​​Target audience

The course is addressed to persons who plan to program or design programs for SIMATIC S7-300/400 PLC’s with Step 7 V5.x. For example: SIMATIC installers and programmers at the beginning, as well as employees with service and maintenance responsibilities who need to carry out simple programs or modify programs.

Required knowledge

S7-BASIC, S7-SYSTEM module or a similar level of knowledge and experience. 

Goal

After completing this module, the participant is able to:

• perform a logic programming.
• design systematically and structured programming.
• make status charts and translate them into programs for SIMATIC S7-300 / 400 PLC’s.
• use basic programing functions.
• use information from data blocks.

• General introduction to programming, application analysis, establish the inputs and outputs.
• Creating an S7 project and use the STEP7 block editor.
• Structure of a program.
• Programming blocks with STEP7 development software in the languages:
  • Ladder Logic (LAD);
  • Function Block Diagram (FBD);
  • Statement List (STL);
• Systematic design using status charts.
• Structured programming.
• Data formats (elementary level).
• Creating data blocks / working with data blocks.
• Programming basic functions.
• Comparing and load/transfer functions.
• Using libraries and SFC blocks in STEP7.
• Many practical exercises.
